How Did I Get Here?

Well, that's a tricky question.

When I was in grade ten, one day, my computer teacher mentioned the word 'blogging', while he was talking about search engines and how they aren't mere search engines anymore. I remember raising my hand at the end of the lesson and asking him, "Sir, what is a blog?"

He replied, "It's an online platform where writers and readers interact on topics that interest them."

And to tell you the truth, I haven't had any idea what it meant until last year, despite developing a keen interest in reading blogs as a pastime.

When I was in my final year of A'levels, I browsed the web a lot in search of study resources. While I was at that, I tumbled across a former schoolmate's blog, which caught my attention and sparked curiosity in me. Local blogs were not a frequent sighting to me, so I was amazed. The dude himself was a genius and all, but the simple fact that he had a blog was enough to make me question my entire existence.

Seriously.

Ever since then, I'd been meaning to set up a blog, either abandoning it or chickening out every time.

But recently, with the rise of Instagram, the need to have a beautiful feed has increased rapidly. I too, have been caught in the 'phenomenon', and my favorite 'feeds' seemed to be those of popular craft bloggers. Every time, these bloggers and their posts fascinated me to the point that I too, wanted to try what they were doing.

It's assumable by now, that Instagram brought me to the world of blogging.

But that's not entirely true.

I might have become extremely fascinated by bloggers and may have dug the entire internet in search of a good article that would help me set up my own blog that would attract millions of readers. But still, that's not what brought me here.

What made me start writing this very first post, is my work and passions.

No, it's not how to redecorate your kid's room to look like Cinderella's.

It's medical interpreting. Writing, in its essence. Learning new things and experiencing stuff. Photography. Overcoming obstacles in life. Knowing yourself and loving yourself. Making decisions that you are happy with. Random fruits of boredom that gives birth to hilarious lists. Whatever it is that's going in my life that I want to evaluate and rant about.

Are you in for it? If so, come with me!
